Happy Surgery / Valentine's Day!

February 14, 2014

Nothing says "I Love You" like digging in your pits for some crappy lymph nodes.

- I put on clean underwear this morning (seemed like the right thing to do)
- I marked the rotten boob with an ink pen and wrote a note on my chest just in case they accidentally work on the wrong side (too much Discovery Channel...)
- Good luck getting my MAC Lipstain off my lips if you need the makeup off, Doc. Haha I get the last word.

Okay, ready to kick this pig! Thank you for all the love and prayers for clean(ish) nodes and not the naughty ones

Mark also posted a few posts while waiting on me to wake up from my blissful drugged up surgery....

"Ok folks, I've been asked, coerced, and slightly threatened to keep an update going on Moya's operation. A few minutes ago, I left the operating room as she was all gowned up and ready to go. She was wide awake and was telling me everything is going to be ok? I told her that's supposed to be my job! She's something else. Anyway, it will be several hours and I asked the doctors/nurses to give me updates regarding whether it is in her nodes and other things as they can. They said they would. So, as I mentioned before, thanks for all the outpouring of support, it has been truly amazing and uplifting. God please look after her as we wait..."
"Good news folks... Moya is done with surgery and the greatest news is I just spoke with her surgeon and tests came back NEGATIVE that cancer is in her lymph nodes. That is a huge relief!!! She has the port in and is still in happy-land recuperating. I have not been able to see her yet. Just the surgeon. There is a pretty good chance she may even be home today as long as she is not sick from the anesthesia. Thanks for the prayers everyone! Stay tuned...
"Ok, so there is humor in everything I guess. I'm in recovery with Moya. Can you say HIGH-AS-A-KITE. Yes, I have video Moya!Don't hack my Facebook again or the video comes out mwaahahaha!!"
"Well folks, we are home now. Moya is in her jammies, got her medications helping with pain, and is snoozing away knowing that the news of the day was very good. You all will appreciate that the last things she did before sleeping is pee, (keep in mind they pumped her full of dye today to trace her cancer) then giggle and say "look at that, it's blue! I was hoping it'd do that. That made my day!" So, even on her worst day she made me laugh with her goofy perspective on things. I don't expect she'll be up again until morning as she has to sleep off some pretty serious meds. When, she wakes I have no doubt she'll resume her fb chatter as we all know she is a facebookaholic. Her folks are watching the kids tonight. I'm having some dinner and a cold beer and reflecting on this day. Wow!! Doctors are amazing. Medicine is amazing. Science is amazing. Friends are amazing. Moya is amazing. Most importantly... God is amazing. Thank you thank you thank you everyone! I'm out..."
